Eighth Grade Promotion Requirements
8th grade students will participate in the promotion and other activities if they meet all of the following requirements:
Behavior: Maintain a high degree of citizenship as evidenced by an understanding and
acceptance of student responsibilities as outlined in the student handbook.
- Student must receive less than two school suspensions for the eighth grade year.
- Student cannot have more than eight citations for the eighth grade year and may not have more than two in any grading quarter.
Attendance: Establish a positive attendance record.
- Student must have less than eighteen days of absences without doctor’s notes during the school year.
- Student must not currently be on the LOP list.
Grades: Maintain Good Grades
- Establish a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or better.
- May not have more than 2 semester F’s in the 8th grade
Parents: We encourage parents to meet with the teacher regularly to assure
their children are maintaining the commencement requirements.
